Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using octo.do, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service Description

octo.do is a task management application provided by Octily GmbH. The service includes task creation, prioritization using WSJF scoring, AI-assisted features, email integration, and data export capabilities.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use octo.do. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

4. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password or API keys with third parties. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use octo.do to: store or transmit illegal content; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data; interfere with or disrupt the service; reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code; use the service for automated bulk operations beyond normal personal use.

6. AI-Assisted Features

octo.do uses AI services (currently via Google Gemini) for features including: chatbot assistance, email-to-task conversion, and title suggestions. When you use these features, relevant task data and email content are processed by third-party AI providers. AI-generated content may not always be accurate. You should review AI suggestions before acting on them.

7. Subscription and Payments

Free accounts have limited features. Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Prices are displayed before purchase. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal. Refunds are handled according to applicable consumer protection laws.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of octo.do is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of all content you create. We do not claim intellectual property rights over your tasks or data.

9. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications to the service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Octily GmbH shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The courts of Berlin shall have exclusive jurisdiction. For EU consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence shall apply.
